Bulldog has announced that it now offers the Variobend UP & DOWN Double Bender long-folding machine that features a patented inclined backward-bending beam, providing a large open space capable of producing a variety of profiles.

The machines also offer a massive opening height of 770mm that enables the profiler to be flipped inside the machine, as well as extra-hardened replaceable bending beam segments, a taper function to stick profiles together easily and the robust slitting attachment.

Bulldog says Variobend has also developed one of the most modern motorized systems for long folding machines and up and down benders as the drive concept combines the highest bending speed with the lowest power consumption.

Compared to machines with hydraulic drives working continuously and therefore constantly producing noise and consuming power unnecessarily, the motors of the Variobend long-folding machines only operate when a movement occurs on the machine, meaning that not only is the consumption of the machine low, i.e. just 70W in standby mode, but also there is no annoying noise from the motors or cooling units.

As the maximum pressure of the hydraulic system is not required for every operation, Variobend has developed the RP technology, which it says only develops as much pressure as is required for the operation. Therefore, no unnecessary pressure build-up is produced, providing what the company describes as the best possible mix of high speed and energy efficiency.

Variobend also offers the Variobend Touch Control; a 21.5 inch flat screen monitor fixed on a swivel arm that allows the operator to easily draw profiles at the touch of a finger, offering what the company calls a very clear and easy profile management system.

With this technology comes the ability to create folders for each project and connect the machines with the company network so that they may be accessed from several locations.

In November 2015, Variobend relaunched the new 2mm Steel Thickness Series for the Variobend UP & DOWN bender. As standard, this machine includes a fully automated electrical crowning system with which it is possible to produce profiles with thicker material and high precision.

Variobend offers long length folders and UP & DOWN benders from 4m up to 12m in length with a maximum bending capacity of 2mm steel.

Bulldog’s Variobend UP & DOWN Double Bender and the Schechtl traditional CNC folders will be exhibited on stand 4568, hall 4 of MACH 2016 at the N.E.C. Birmingham, 11 – 15 April 2016.
