PVC-U with the “characteristics of wood”

x-wood-school-close-upFreefoam Building Products has announced the launch of X-Wood – an exterior PVC-U cladding that looks and handles like wood without the usual maintenance issues associated with timber.

The subtle woodgrain finish has been designed to bring a refreshing new look to the exterior of any refurbishment or new build project.

The company says the product comes in response to the growing popularity of both timber and PVC façades and comprises three different layers: a heavy duty through-coloured plastic foam core covered with a durable plastic skin, and then coated with Renolit film which creates a hard-wearing, stable material with a woodgrain effect finish.

X-Wood cladding offers a choice of six contemporary colours from subtle White, Cream and Greyed Cedar to traditional Oak and more dramatic Anthracite Grey and Wine Red, all with an impressive ten-year guarantee. X-Wood can also be used in coastal and highly exposed areas.

The PVC-U material requires no sealing or treating and the system includes a full range of aluminium and PVC-U fitting trims to ensure a quick, neat and professional finish.

With its stable composition, X-Wood is manufactured not to warp, split, splinter or decay. Utilising the Renolit woodgrain outer film gives the range extra stability by providing UV protection, meaning that X-Wood is colourfast and weatherproof.

The PVC-U material is guaranteed to last for ten years just needing a gentle wash down to keep it looking in good condition.

X-Wood complements Freefoam’s existing woodgrain single shiplap, embossed double shiplap and weatherboard range.
