Big Foot Systems joins bimstore

bimstoreBig Foot Systems has added its rooftop building services support structures to bimstore, which are available now to be view at www.bimstore.co.uk.

The website – created by specifiers for specifiers – allows users to download manufacturers’ digital BIM content. Big Foot’s decision to add its products is particularly timely due to the UK Government mandate that all projects tendering for Government work have to achieve Level 2 Building Information Modelling (BIM) by 2016.

Both of the company’s Light Duty and Heavy Duty ranges of freestanding framework systems, and its Safe Access Systems, all feature on bimstore. By offering its BIM objects on bimstore, as well as the NBS National BIM Library, Big Foot Systems says it aims to ease the specification process for architects and specifiers.

Joe Rose, technical marketing manager at Big Foot Systems, said:

“Although Building Information Modelling (BIM) is still relatively new, its use is accelerating and it looks set to become the mainstream method to design buildings which is why we have added our support systems to a second BIM library.

“Big Foot Systems aims to be at the forefront of UK construction and sites like bimstore allow a wider range of specifiers to visualise our products and see the benefits that they can bring to projects. We are also making our internal systems BIM compatible, allowing us to export into the industry leading BIM software platform Revit, which is 4D BIM capable, further assisting specifiers using our systems.”

Big Foot Systems added that by adding its various ranges to bimstore, it hopes to raise awareness of its differing systems among the construction industry.
