Cefil UK’s inaugural golf day tees off nicely

The Kennels, Goodwood, was the perfect setting for Cefil UK’s inaugural Golf Day. The waterproofing manufacturer and supplier held the event on April 30 to say thank you to its suppliers and customers, and a wide cross section of the industry – including, suppliers, contractors, installers and estimators of varying golfing abilities – enjoyed good weather and refreshments before setting out to pit their wits against the testing course.

Mark Oakley, managing director of Cefil UK, said: “We launched the Golf Day to give something back to the suppliers and the customers and to thank them for all the support they’ve given us over the last 12 months. It’s really a way for us all to have a good time in a more informal environment, and for us to show them we really appreciate what they do, even if we can’t tell them all the time.”

It wasn’t just bragging rights that were up for grabs on the day, as golfers were in with the chance of winning œ500 courtesy of BMW for a hole in one on any of Goodwood’s par three holes, and a BMW M1 for a hole in one on the 17th, which featured a tricky water hazard. A couple of golfers went close on the day but nobody walked off with any of the prizes this year.

Mark said: “Unfortunately nobody won the BMW this year, but there’s always next. This will be an annual event and we’re already organising and booking for next year’s event now. The feedback we’ve had regarding the course, facilities and the day in general has been fantastic.”

He added: “We could not have held this event without the support of our suppliers, sponsors and staff who were all integral to the success of this day.”

Look out for information on next year’s event in the coming months.
