Russell Roof Tiles is continuing to celebrate its anniversary year by organising a fundraising fitness class at its Burton on Trent head office.

Staff from both the head office and plastics factory came together for a Zumba class – a combination of dance and aerobics elements – for the first in a series of events dedicated to raising money for Help for Heroes.

The class was led by Rachael Lancaster, customer service manager for Russell Roof Tiles and former aerobics instructor. She said: “We all had a laugh dancing to Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka’ and I loved choreographing it. Many of the team came up with some interesting moves of their own!”

The event raised £700 for the charity and is the latest event organised by Russell Roof Tiles to raise money for charity. In the first half of the year, the firm raised £3,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care through three events: a staff fun day in Lochmaben, a football match and a staff sponsored weight loss.

Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles, says: “It was great to see so many people attend Zumba class and having fun at the same time, all for a good cause.

“Help for Heroes is a brilliant charity and provides excellent services. Many of our staff have been touched by their willingness to help brave men and women on their road to recovery.”
