Klober Permo air has been used as part of extensive conservation and remodelling of the Grade 1-listed All Saints Church in Kingston.

The underlay solution was used as part of a reroof of the choir vestry.

The overall project was valued at £1.7m and has transformed the church into a revitalised centre for heritage and community at the heart of Kingston. The present building dates from 1120, though the choir vestry was added in the 1920s.

Ptolemy Dean Architects drew up plans which included opening up two entrances on the church’s north side. The North-West porch had previously functioned as a boiler room while the other entrance had not been used since the 19th century.

According to Klober, Permo air is now being used on a growing number of conservation and restoration projects as well as new build housing, as it is the highest performing air-open underlay. The product’s versatility is provided by its standard of ‘breathability’, which Klober says is unmatched in UK construction.
