MGMA offers latest guidance document

mgmaThe Metal Gutter Manufacturers Association (MGMA) has released new guidance offering advice on the methods available to deal with deterioration of internal metal gutters.

According to Refurbishment of Internal Metal Gutters, most industrial buildings feature gutters fabricated from galvanized steel with bolted joints. As with all building products, these systems have a life expectancy and in older installations, corrosion of the gutter steel substrate and leakage at the bolted gutter joints can occur.

The guidance document examines the benefits of both liquid applied methods and membrane methods of repair. The MGMA also emphasises the importance of fully considering the advantages and disadvantages of each method instead of opting for the cheaper solution, which can become a liability to both the customer and the installer.
