AccuRoof, part of SIG Roofing, has appointed Danny Meadows as national liquid manager.

Danny has worked in liquid-applied roofing for 20 years. He started ‘on the tools’ or ‘on the roller’, as he refers to it, in 2006, and completed an NVQ in Liquid Applied Waterproofing in 2007. He worked as a roofing contractor until he joined AccuRoof, previously SIG Design & Technology, in 2014 as a senior field technician.

AccuRoof stated that for the past 12 years he has provided technical field support, specification assistance and training on a range of liquid roofing systems for both customers and the SIG Roofing branch staff.

The company allows access to its specialist roofing products once the contractor has completed adequate training, and, for liquid roofing, that training is assessed by Danny. The contractor is assessed not only on training but also on the first few liquid projects, giving them the required skills and confidence to install. AccuRoof said this ensures that the roof complies with building regulations and that the product warranty can be issued by AccuRoof for each completed project. It is all part of the AccuRoof ARRC scheme.

Day-to-day, he will continue to visit sites to assist contractors or to present new products to them. He will also continue to work alongside the six field technicians at AccuRoof, supporting them with liquid roofing enquiries, and will carry on the training of both customers and SIG Roofing branch staff.

Danny said: “It has been a positive year for me on all fronts. Being recognised by the industry at the LRWA Awards as a finalist in their training category and now being promoted by the organisation I work for, AccuRoof, has been very important to me and much appreciated. I am looking forward to seeing the liquid roofing category continue to grow at both AccuRoof and for SIG Roofing.”
