The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) will host an inaugural training summit in Westminster to address the skills challenges currently facing the construction industry.
?Building Futures’ will be held on Tuesday March 10 2015 in partnership with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), and will bring together key industry and Government figures.
The one-day event will provide an opportunity for large and small businesses, training providers and policy-makers to hear the latest thinking on key issues and help shape the future of training in construction. Keynote speakers including Nick Boles, minister for skills and equalities; Chuka Umunna, shadow skills minister; and CITB chief executive, Adrian Belton have already been confirmed to address those attending.
The event will also see the launch of a report from the Commission on Apprenticeships, which will look at ways to boost quality apprenticeships across construction and other sectors.
A series of practical workshops and seminars providing free information that could help delegates to grow their businesses will also be included in the summit’s programme.
Building Futures, which will be compered by BBC Breakfast News presenter Steph McGovern, will be held at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster and attendance is free.
