£35,000 raised for charity

On Friday, August 11, Richard Soan organised his annual charity race day at Brighton Racecourse in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust and Whoopsadaisy.

Teenage Cancer Trust is said to be the only UK charity dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young people aged between 13 and 24 who have been diagnosed with cancer. Whoopsadaisy is a Brighton-based charity helping children with Cerebral Palsy and similar motor disorders to live life as independently as possible.

The event was a success with over 500 people sitting down to a three-course lunch and then enjoying an afternoon of racing. Fundraising took place throughout the afternoon with some generous bids for the auction items.

Richard said: “This event just gets bigger and bigger each year. I can remember when I first started organising this day and we had 90 people in attendance. What amazing support we now receive for two very worthy causes.”
