The A. Proctor Group has appointed Teresa Thomson as its new finance director, taking over from Paul Roy, who retires from the role in March after more than 32 years of service.

Teresa is a professionally qualified accountant and has held a director position for more than 15 years. Alongside managing monthly accounts processes, and providing accurate, trusted information and analysis, she is experienced in acquisitions, financial controls and business strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, Keira Proctor, managing director, said: “I’m delighted that Teresa has felt the time is right to join the A. Proctor Group. We first met over a decade ago, and I’m pleased to now have the chance to work with her. She will be an asset to the company as we continue our growth in the years to come.”

Teresa said: “Joining the A. Proctor Group was an easy decision. As a family owned and run business, the company shares my values of having the right culture and looking after its people.

“I’ve been part of a diverse range of companies at Board level during my career. I’m looking forward to working with Keira and providing guidance to the A.Proctor Group Board, and helping take the company into its next chapter.”

Paul said: “Over 32 years I’ve seen the company grow immeasurably. Even during recessions, we saw growth. Being able to secure the business, look after our people, and help in supporting the local Blairgowrie area has always been important for us.”

Reflecting on Paul’s time with the Group, Keira added: “Paul helped steer the company through two recessions and various business cycles. He has been a big support to me, the Proctor Family, and many others in the A. Proctor Group over the years.

“His enjoyment of activities saw him instigate the ‘Proctor Challenge’, organising hill walks and other events. Not only that, but he has always helped to motivate others and support people in fundraising efforts. We wish him nothing but the best in his retirement.”
