BriggsAmasco has celebrated its 150th anniversary with a special gala event at the Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street.

As one of London’s most exclusive venues, the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building is home to one of the highest public parks in the world and played host to the company’s celebrations. Guests from across the roofing industry were welcomed to three storeys of landscaped public gardens enclosed by the building’s impressive glass dome.

Among the guests who joined managing director Dave Maginnis and other representatives from BriggsAmasco were outgoing chief executive of the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, Ray Horwood, and his replacement, James Talman.

Andy Williamson, managing director of IKO, was also in attendance and presented Dave Maginnis with a 150th anniversary cake.

Mr. Magnnis said: “We’re really excited to be celebrating our 150th anniversary. This prestigious and well-attended event provided a perfect opportunity for us to give something back and thank all the members of our team and supply chain that have been so crucial to our long term success.”

“To celebrate our anniversary we have also produced a commemorative coffee-table book. It highlights our growth from a small asphalt manufacturer with just two employees into one of the UK’s leading roofing and waterproofing specialists.”

With 125 staff members helping to deliver over 1,200 projects each year, BriggsAmasco says it remains committed to improvement, innovation and adding value at every opportunity for another 150 years.
