BTS Fabrications says it has seen demand for up-market cladding begin to increase, with a growing trend emerging for zinc and zinc look-a-like rainscreen systems.
The company’s website showcases two ?zinc’ projects that have recently been completed in its Vantage Engineered Rainscreen systems. These projects have been completed on student accommodation in Ealing and Reading respectively.
Phil Atkinson, managing director of BTS Fabrications, explained: “We view our success for the move into this new market on our recent accreditations. All of our Vantage Engineered Rainscreen systems have passed rigorous independent tests in accordance with CWCT Standard for Systemised Building Envelopes-DEC-05. This has been complemented by our certification to ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance that we achieved ten months ago. We have also started the process for the ISO 14001:2004 (UKAS Accredited) environmental endorsement.
“You know that your reputation precedes you when envelope contractor Lakesmere give you your first order. We are manufacturing our largest fascia order for the NEC resorts complex in Birmingham but we didn’t approach them, word of mouth got us an enquiry and within five days of samples, customer visits and negotiation, we got the order.”
This announcement from BTS Fabrications follows a recent study from AMA Research, which showed that the UK cladding market had reached pre-recession levels. This was partly due to a growing trend among architects for copper and zinc rainscreen systems and roofing.
