The date and venue for the first National Insulation Industry Awards (NIIA) have been changed to accommodate for high demand.
Originally scheduled for June 27 at the Great Hall in Birmingham, the event has now been moved to November at the Banqueting Suite of the East Midlands Conference Centre and Orchard Hotel, on the University of Nottingham’s main campus.
Colin Heath, of event organisers M4 Publishing, commented: “Reaction to the Awards has been truly phenomenal. Demand for tickets has already gone through the roof, so to speak, and to accommodate everyone we’ve had to switch venues.”
The new location is particularly fitting, with the recently-built 202-room Orchard Hotel achieving a BREEAM Excellent rating due to its energy efficiency and outstanding sustainability credentials, including U value targets of just 0.15 W/m²K for external walls and 0.1 W/m²K for floors and roofs.
Mr Heath added: “We’re really pleased to be heading to this fantastic showcase of environmentally-friendly building technology, and I’m sure it’ll prove to be the perfect venue for this prestigious occasion.”
The first National Insulation Industry Awards (NIIA), aims to recognise the work of the UK’s insulation industry, which contributes an estimated £890m to the economy and employs 70,000 people across the country.
The 15 separate Awards will be judged by an eminent panel chaired by Rob Pannell of NHBC and including Dr Kerry Mashford of the National Energy Foundation, Claire Curtis-Thomas of the BBA and Lord Deben, Chairman of the Committee on Climate Change.
As a result of the changes, entries will now close on Friday, August 25, 2017 and the awards ceremony will be held on November 30, 2017.
