CIC welcomes five new members from across construction industry

The Construction Inclusion Coalition (CIC) has welcomed five new members to its ranks as more businesses from across the construction sector sign up to the Built on Better pledge.

Ventilation product manufacturer Volution Group and PVC-U manufacturer Eurocell have joined housebuilder Chartway Partnerships Group, landscaping product specialist Talasey and e-learning platform provider Coretexa in raising the number of CIC members to 40 companies and organisations, just one year since the launch of the coalition.

The CIC aims to enhance the impact of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion initiatives that are happening within individual companies, by providing a forum to share successful practices.

Speaking on Eurocell joining the coalition, Darren Waters, CEO of the company, said: “We’ve joined the Construction Inclusion Coalition to collaborate with other leading companies and pledge our support to help make the building sector more inclusive.

“Joining the CIC will also greatly contribute to our inclusivity goals and allow us to learn from those in our industry who are doing great things in their businesses to support people of all backgrounds. We will also be able to share our stories, resources and best practice with the industry. We are proud to be a part of the coalition.”

Ronnie George, CEO of Volution Group, said: “I am pleased to have become a coalition member. This fits perfectly with what Volution Group believes in and I hope can be a further force for good.”

Chartway Partnerships Group has also become the first house builder to become a member of the coalition.

Mark Davis Group, marketing communications director at the firm, said: “We joined because we believe that improving equity, diversity, and inclusion across the construction industry is not just important but essential. By collaborating with other industry leaders, we can amplify the impact of our individual initiatives and work together to create meaningful change.

“The CIC provides a valuable network where businesses of all sizes can share knowledge, resources, and solutions, driving progress towards a more inclusive and equitable industry. We’re delighted to take the Built on Better Pledge and be part of this movement, fostering a construction sector that truly reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.”

Construction Inclusion Coalition chair, and Toolstation managing director, Angela Rushforth, added: “Seeing such a wide range of businesses join the coalition demonstrates that there is growing recognition that culture change must happen across the construction sector.

“The message from our recent Coalition in Conversation conference was that there are good people in the industry but there are so many more good people the industry could have. We want to be game changers and build a truly inclusive industry. Welcoming these companies to the coalition broadens our platform, increases our shared knowledge and experience, and proves there is a desire throughout the sector to make lasting changes.”
