Mapei UK has announced that as of 31 October, 2020, Polyglass GB will become a part of its operations.
In 2008, Mapei Group purchased Polyglass’ worldwide business and until now the UK subsidiaries of each company have remained separate entities.
The decision to integrate the two businesses has the aim to strengthen the Midlands-based construction product providers.
The Polyglass business will become a new product division of Mapei UK. The continuity and experience the company is renowned for, with its existing customer base will not be affected, and its contacts will remain the same, with products still being dispatched from its premises in Willenhall.
Mapei UK, the Halesowen-based subsidiary of the Italian Mapei Group, is well known for its installation systems for all types of wall and floor coverings and specialist construction products, including concrete repair, waterproofing, structural strengthening, concrete admixtures and wall coatings, to name but a few of its 20 product lines.
With Polyglass, Mapei will now be able to offer its client base an extended range of waterproofing membranes and roofing systems.
Philip Breakspear, managing director of Mapei UK, said: “The integration of the Polyglass GB business in Mapei UK will further strengthen its product offering to its customer base, allowing Mapei to supply and specify from the ground to the roof, thereby creating a one-stop-shop for construction professionals.”
