Martin-Brooks has fundraising off to a tee

Golf enthusiasts at Sheffield-based Martin-Brooks have put another £1,500 in the firm’s charity coffers.

Friends, colleagues and professional partners joined the roofing specialists at its annual golf day to raise money for the firm’s nominated local charities.

A total of 52 players took to the greens at Renishaw Park Golf Club in teams of four to participate in Martin-Brooks’ 18-hole Stableford competition. Prizes were awarded for the highest scoring group and individual, which was won by David Foxcroft of English Heritage, who also bagged the accolade for ‘nearest the pin on the 5th.’

Dale Wright, Martin-Brooks’ contracts director and event organiser, commented: “We had a fantastic turnout for our annual golf day. We could not have asked for better weather or company and I would like to thank all those who gave their time and money so generously. The proceeds will benefit six small charities that are doing really valuable work across our home city and edge us ever-nearer our fundraising target.”

Martin-Brooks says it has pledged to raise £25,000 for Sheffield organisations, including Amy’s Retreat, Catcliffe MS Therapy Centre, Cavendish Cancer Care, Sheffield Talking News, St Vincent’s Furniture Scheme and The Rowan School.
