MKM Building Supplies is set to open its 141st branch in Swindon on Monday 2 March 2026.
The company said this will mark the sixth new branch opening of 2026 and create 17 new jobs for local people.
The new branch will be led by local branch directors Damien Lockey and Scott Woodward, both born and raised in the area.
Damien said: “For us, it’s about doing things properly. We’ve been given the freedom to build our dream team, shape the branch around local needs and deliver the kind of service people in Swindon deserve. That’s what MKM is all about.”
Scott added: “We’re both local lads, so this isn’t just another branch opening. We know the area, we know the trades and we know what good service looks like. Having the ability to make decisions locally means we can react quickly and genuinely look after customers.”
According to a company statement, the Swindon branch is to offer a full range of building materials. This includes landscaping products and displays, a strong timber and insulation offer, paint mixing facilities, and a dedicated kitchens and bathrooms showroom supported by an experienced specialist team.
Damien said: “We’ve built a team with serious experience and real product knowledge. Customers will notice the difference straight away. Whether it’s landscaping, kitchens, timber or insulation, we’ve got people who know their stuff and want to help.”
Scott added: “Trade customers want straightforward service, reliable stock and people who know what they’re talking about. That’s what we’re building here. Customers can expect a warm welcome, a free hot drink and real expertise every time they come through the door.”
Free local delivery will be available for trade and retail customers, with same-day delivery offered where possible. The company stated that the team will focus on flexibility and clear communication to support busy site schedules and avoid delays.
Damien said: “The difference with MKM is the support we get and the freedom to run the branch in the right way for our area. Our team knows the grass really is greener here, and that shows in how we look after customers.”
As a locally led branch, MKM Swindon will support local charity STEP Swindon, with an initial donation already planned alongside ongoing fundraising and community activity.
