Roofing and timber merchant RTB Roofing Supplies has been able to start trading in rapid time, thanks to MV Commercial’s ability to supply a high-spec MAN TGM brick grab in just two weeks.
The Rainham-based business launched with the arrival of the new truck, part of MV Commercial’s extensive range of assets designed for builders’ merchants and construction companies from the supplier’s Ready to Go Stock of specialist vehicles, including tippers, grabs, hotboxes and plant trucks.
Rob Slattery, director, RTB Roofing Supplies, said: “We wanted to get on the road as soon as possible, but manufacturers were quoting lead times of six months. MV Commercial, however, had what we needed, and it was ready for immediate delivery. They made the buying process quick and easy, and supplied us a great vehicle so we could start delivering across Essex.”
The 6×2 truck incorporates a Hiab X-HIDUO 158 brick grab for easy loading and unloading of goods such as roof tiles, felt and slate. Equipped with a Euro VI engine, RTB Roofing Supplies’ new asset can be used in clean air zones and incorporates a variety of driver comfort and safety features, including heated mirrors and a reversing camera system.
The 26-tonner is also equipped with a lane departure warning system and fall arrest protection, maximising protection when on the road or during unloading.
The company was so impressed by the quality of MV Commercial’s engineering and service that it has already placed an order for a six-wheeler for carrying larger payloads.
