The National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) North Western England and Wales region has successfully recruited eight new committee members including a Chair to support, enhance and promote the strategic goals of the NFRC locally.
At a time when the industry is faced with a number of challenges, the new committee bring experience and valuable industry knowledge. They are focused on taking a professional, involved and proactive approach to the region, with a view to raising the profile of NFRC.
The new committee members are:
Mike Ward (North Western England and Wales Regional Chairman), Director, Comm Commercial Projects
A Quantity Surveyor by trade, Mike has a bias towards cladding and sheeting, though also undertaking felt flat roofs. Mike currently works for a cladding and roofing contractor based in Liverpool, but his past experience includes Healthcare and Civil Engineering, both on the contractor and client side.
Jennifer Beddard, Marketing and Sales Executive, Beddard Roofing
Jennifer works in domestic roofing with her husband, and wants to help improve and raise the standards throughout the industry. Jennifer is looking forward to working with NFRC.
Tom Carroll, Estimator, The Sovini Group
Tom joins the committee having had a career in roofing since he was fifteen years old and having worked within a family business which has since been incorporated into The Sovini Group.
Melissa Fazackerley, SHEQ Manager, Longworth Building Services
Melissa is responsible for reviewing and advising on policy, procedures and new initiatives for safety, health, environment and quality on all Longworth sites. Additionally, Melissa brings her knowledge and experience to training, strategic planning and essential works on risk management.
Caroline Haslam, Head of QSHE, FK Group
Caroline’s areas of expertise are Occupational Health and Safety with a particular interest in the health of the workforce.
Jonathan Jones, Director, Flintshire Roofing
Since its establishment in 1994, Flintshire Roofing has grown to become one of the region’s most respected roofing companies, covering North Wales, Cheshire, the Wirral and Liverpool.
Phil Medford, Divisional Director, HS RoofClad
HS Roof Clad provides total envelope solutions within industrial and commercial sectors. Phil brings a broad range of experience within the industry and in his current role to help deliver our objectives.
Joanne Stewart, Office Manager, Spar Roofing
Spar Roofing was founded in 1978 by Joanne’s father, David Stewart. Joanne has taken over the running of the business and wants to share her knowledge and experience with other Members, along with helping to improve and develop the region on many levels.
Juliet Thompson, NFRC North West Regional Manager said:
“I am highly enthused by the new Chair and committee members we now have in place for the North West region. I believe that the combined experience and diversity across the membership of the committee will bring fresh input and reinvigorate the understanding of what NFRC does for the sector, its members and the wider public. There are some new working methods that are being introduced into the region and the new committee members are contributing with ideas and fully supportive to the positive changes required.”
