On The Tools launches new membership card

On The Tools has launched a new membership card aimed at helping tradespeople save money across work and everyday life.

The ‘On The Tools Card’ gives access to discounts on tools, materials and other construction-related spends. It also gives money off of groceries, coffee shops, pubs, retail and insurance.

Brands currently available for discounts with the card are Nike, Samsung, Kwik-fit, Confused.com, Virgin Media, The AA, Ray Ban and Gousto, alongside construction companies such as Jewson, Karcher and more. On The Tools stated that new deals and brands will continue to be announced.

It also includes a built-in wellbeing area, designed to make it easier for people in the industry to find support when they need it, continuing the work they do supporting tradespeople through ‘Project 7k: The Lost City’.

On The Tools said the card has been shaped around real spending habits, rather than just focusing on merchants. That means recognising that for most trades, costs don’t stop when the van’s parked up.

Lee Wilcox, co-founder and CEO of On The Tools, said: “Most people in the trade know exactly where their money’s going at the minute – and it’s not just on gear or materials. It’s the food shop, fuel, bills, everything. You can feel it day to day, whether you’re pricing a job or just trying to get through the week.

“We wanted to create something that actually reflects that reality. There are plenty of offers out there, but they’re often focused on one part of the picture. What we’ve tried to do with the card is bring it all together – savings on the tools and materials you need to do the job, but also on the things you’re spending on when you’re off site.

“It’s something we’re properly backing as a business because we know it’s needed. We speak to tradespeople every day, and the same themes keep coming up – pressure on costs, long hours, and not always knowing where to turn if things start to build up.

“If we can take a bit of that pressure off, whether that’s through saving money across the board or making support easier to access, then it’s doing what it’s meant to. It’s about being useful in a real, practical way – not just something that sounds good on paper.”

The card is now available to tradespeople across the UK for free for a 12 month period, or two years if members refer a friend or colleague. Membership will be £10 a year thereafter.
