Riding4Dreams raise funds for Dreamflight

Last month a team of 14 cyclists, including Mark Harris, head of technical services and operations at Radmat Building Products, embarked on a 217 mile, three-day bike ride from Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, to Disneyland Paris, in aid of the Dreamflight charity.

Each of the 14 participants has been touched by the opportunity to help the Dreamflight charity’s goal of taking 192 children with disabilities to Disneyland in Orlando, Florida, for 10 days of fun and excitement – without their parents.

Having set up a fundraising group called Riding4Dreams, all of the riders self-funded their costs, with every penny raised going towards Dreamflight.

On what was officially the hottest day on record in the UK on July 25, 2019, this cycle ride got off to a very warm start.

Day one involved the team cycling in 41°C heat, followed by thunderstorms and lightning on day two, and mostly rain on day three. There were 15 punctures, three replacement tyres, 110 bananas consumed and more fig rolls than the team could count.

With the fundraising now topping £24,000, the team are proud of their achievement. However, if you wish to donate and help the Riding4Dreams team raise over £25,000, visit their JustGiving page at: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/TBSBOATS-SGPAM-RADMAT-BATES.
