Selco stores to remain open during second lockdown

Selco Builders Warehouse has confirmed that all of its branches will remain open as normal throughout the lockdown period, which starts on Thursday 5 November.

The company’s three branches in Wales have also been open normally during the country’s shorter firebreak period.

The confirmation comes after the government announced that builders’ merchants in England will be considered an ‘essential service’ to ensure the nation’s tradespeople can continue to work and will be allowed to enter and work in residential properties.

Howard Luft, chief executive of Selco Builders Warehouse, said: “We are pleased that the government has confirmed that builders’ merchants offer an essential service and can continue to trade through this latest period of heavy restrictions.

The company said its branches are COVID-19 secure, with strict social distancing and sanitisation stations in place. All colleagues are wearing face coverings and customers are asked to do the same.
