We Build the Future launches the 2019 Cake Bake

Construction and built environment sector charity, We Build the Future, has officially launched the 2019 cake bake – a competition where participants go head to head for the honour of being named Cake Bake King or Queen and in the process, raise money to improve the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer and also support industry workers dealing with its impact.

We Build the Future supports people who work in the construction and built environment sector and who are facing the challenge of dealing with cancer in their lives. The charity helps to fund research aimed at accelerating improvements in the prevention, detection and treatment of cancer, and in addition, aids in the promotion of health and wellbeing across the industry to help reduce the risk of people developing cancer in the first place.

It’s easy to take part in the Cake Bake and every pound raised goes to a good cause. Anyone can participate, from groups of friends to internal departments, regional offices or entire companies. The premise is that each week two participants go head to head to see who can bake the best cake, with the winner going through to the next round. All cakes are then sold with money raised going to We Build the Future, an official supporter of Cancer Research UK.

To take part participants need to visit the We Build the Future website, register and download the information pack and instructions. The information can be found here: – https://webuildthefuture.org/campaigns/cakebake-2019/

We Build the Future Trustee, Richard Harral, commented: “The Cake Bake is a simple way for people to have fun and raise some money for a good cause. To start with, who doesn’t like cake? If you can have some fun with work colleagues, bake some cakes and raise money to help battle cancer, this has to be a good thing.”

We Build the Future is an official supporter of the world’s biggest cancer charity, Cancer Research UK. This ensures that any funds raised are used to support research, and people working in the construction and built environment sector have access to the expert information and support they need.
