Women in Roofing directors Livia Williams, Denise Cherry and Kate Whatley, along with roofer Lauren Pollit have said they had a fantastic day at the Inspire Summit in Manchester, on Wednesday, September 6.
They said that there were some great thought-provoking and inspiring debates and some fantastic case studies. Livia Williams is said to have done a fantastic job on each of her panels, addressing how the housing market is shaping the trades skills and innovation agenda, and then discussing work to life balance and mental wellbeing.
The conference, held at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester highlighted the women working in the UK construction, engineering and housing sectors, who are reshaping expectations and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. Around 400 construction, engineering and housing professionals attended to hear about the achievements of women in the built environment. The event, hosted by award-winning journalist and broadcaster Marverine Cole, was attended by both men and women, as well as students and school pupils hoping to join the industry. Experts and industry leaders debated a wide range of topics from boosting apprentice numbers and tackling the skills shortage, to creating a happy work / life balance and driving organisational change.
