SR Timber has made a key appointment to bolster its team and provide another layer of knowledgeable support and experience for its merchant and contracting customers.

The Huthwaite-based company has appointed Rachael Williams to the role of business support.

Rachael brings 25 years’ experience of working for merchants, as well as in the wider construction industry. SR Timber sees her appointment as pivotal both to its own business operations and to the processes that underpin how the company services its customers.

In previous roles, Rachael purchased batten, so she has already hit the ground running with ideas and insights to help the company, as it continues on its growth trajectory.

She said that having been a buyer of batten, she’s now relishing her role in supporting the business in selling more batten, as well as other products, including Western Red Cedar Shingles.

“Having met with trading director Shaun Revill, it’s clear that there are some very ambitious plans in place for the continued growth of the business and the desire to continue developing the company’s market dominance, particularly in batten,” said Racheal.

“Coming from a merchant plc background, I’m really looking forward to working with the close-knit team and playing a role in driving the business forward.”

Rachael’s role will involve invoicing and overseeing many of SR Timber’s procedural activities, as well as other elements, such as internal auditing.

Speaking about Rachael’s appointment, Shaun said that her experience and background will be a vital addition to the business.

“Rachael comes with a very accomplished CV, and we are delighted to have someone of her experience as part of our team,” said Shaun.

“We’re on a perpetual mission to keep growing and developing our business, and she brings experience forged from her time with merchants – this will be invaluable to us in order to continually improve how we service our merchant customers. It will also be hugely beneficial to the way we serve our customers.”
