KoverTek, working with the BRE Global, are proud to announce their latest achievement in gaining Broof(T4) on all grades of their innovative polyester hybrid system TekGuard®.
TekGuard has been designed as a flexible hybrid polyester system for the use on new (OSB3) and for the overlay of existing roofing substrates such as mineral felt, bitumen, asbestos to name but a few.
KoverTek are keenly aware of the need to drive up the standards relating to roofing systems and especially when it comes to the standards set around fire retardancy. With this in mind it was decided that all tests had to be conducted on real world materials used in construction and especially for roofing and therefore OBS3 was chosen due its wide use and in preliminary testing showed it was a highly combustible substrate so would really challenge the capability of the TekGuard and TekShield systems.
To fully ensure that all guaranteed levels of the product met the stringent Broof(T4) standard for spread of flame and penetration as set out in accordance with EN 13501-5 2016 KoverTek submitted two further sets of panels to test the lay-up of all grades of Chopped Stand Mat (CSM) offered by KoverTek. We are happy to announce that all grades from 300g CSM (15yr Guarantee) to 600g CSM (25yr Guarantee) have achieved Broof(T4) and surpassed expectations with 0 mm spread of flame and no penetration.
To add to the growing success of the TekGuard system KoverTek are now launching a range of colours to offer a wider choice for the end user.
KoverTek have recently released their latest edition of their roofing and ancillary brochure that shows the complete family of products now available, including TekPur SP which is a single part moisture curing polyurethane, TekCryl® which is a high solids/low odour acrylic repair system that give a long-term durable coating for a multitude of surfaces. You will also find a full range of TekStik® sprayable adhesives as well as a full range of GRP trims, outlets, tools and roofing kits.
