KGM Roofing has claimed a hat trick of awards at the recent Kalzip Annual Teamkal Conference and Awards Ceremony, including the top prize of ‘Teamkal Contractor of the Year 2015’ award.
The company was rewarded for its work on the Bennet Building, a flagship development at the Babraham Research Campus. Designed by Archial NORR and built by SDC Builders for Babraham Bioscience Technologies, the building features a Kalzip system comprised of a combination of straight and tapered aluminium standing seam roofing sheets, with a Kalzip galvanised steel liner deck (polyester coated White), fascias, soffits and a Kalzip Plus 40 insulation quilt to achieve a U-Value of 0.18 W/mýK.
Kalzip says the neatness of the workmanship enabled KGM to demonstrate the high quality of its work throughout the six week build process.
Making the announcement at the awards event – held at the Carden Park Hotel near Chester – the judges said: “KGM Roofing has been installing Kalzip to the highest standards since 1989 and were one of the original ‘Teamkal Partners’ when the network was first established in 1995. Its dedicated approach has resulted in the company gaining numerous Teamkal Project Awards over the years – and this latest recognition as the Kalzip ‘Teamkal Contractor of the Year 2015’ is the culmination of their continuing commitment to excellence.
“KGM’s blend of experience, product knowledge, design skills and installation competence has resulted in the delivery of numerous first class Kalzip installations this year – one of which, the Bennet Building at Babraham Research Campus in Cambridge, emerged as winner in the ‘Best Kalzip project under 1500mý’ category. The award for this impressive building is thoroughly deserved by KGM and recognises the company’s continuous drive for excellence throughout their business activities and dedication to the values of the Teamkal Network.”
Jason Harvey, managing director of KGM Roofing, said: “I am absolutely delighted and extremely proud that KGM Roofing was considered worthy of receiving this accolade for the work we’ve all done on various Kalzip projects over this last year. Being acutely aware of the tremendous competition that we faced from the other competing Teamkal members makes this honour even more pleasing.
“The award is also testament to the hard work and passion of the whole team at KGM Roofing.”
Completing the hat trick of awards for KGM were two jointly developed buildings on the Rothamsted Centre for Research and Enterprise in Harpenden – the Lawes Innovation Hub and the Rothamsted Conference Centre Extension, which were highly commended in the ‘Best Kalzip project under 1500mý’ category. Also designed by Archial NORR and built by SDC Builders, the Kalzip roofs on these two buildings also achieve U-Values of 0.18 W/mýK and have similar build-ups to that on the Bennet Building.
A whole host of awards were also presented on the night and full details of the conference can be found by visiting:
