Freefoam Building Products says its foiled X-Wood cladding range has been used on a new project. The property in rural Leicestershire originally featured white wood windows and a wood clad annex. The present homeowners decided to update the windows and refurbish the annex area to create an easy-to-maintain, long lasting façade that met the same high standards as their home. Online research led them to Freefoam and the X-Wood cladding range. After receiving samples of several colour options, the Anthracite Grey finish was selected to tone in with the brick work and roof. The X-Wood cladding range is a PVC-U exterior cladding that is said to look and handle like wood but without all the usual maintenance issues associated with timber. The subtle woodgrain finish is designed to bring a refreshing new look to the exterior of any refurbishment or new-build project. Freefoam says its cladding comprises of three different layers: a heavy duty coloured plastic foam core which is covered with a durable plastic skin and then coated with Renolit film. This is said to create a hard wearing, stable material with a subtle woodgrain-effect finish.
The range is available in a choice of six contemporary colours: White; Cream; Greyed Cedar; Oak; Anthracite Grey and Wine Red – all with a ten-year guarantee. The company says it is suitable for both commercial and domestic new-build or renovation projects and, with its high-performance credentials, X-Wood can also be successfully used in coastal and highly exposed areas.
