Now in its 10th consecutive year, Roofing Racers, which represents teams and individuals made up of all walks of the roofing, building plastics and window industries, are coming together once again to take part in the AJ Bell London Triathlon, due to be held on August 6, 2016.
Roofing Racers presents a rare opportunity for everyone in the industry to join in the spirit of the competition and the fun, friendship and camaraderie, as well as raising money for its chosen charities Great Ormond Street Hospital and Macmillan.
Roofing Racers is open to those of all ages and backgrounds including first timers, sports enthusiasts and the Triathlon elite. The course can be completed as an individual, but for those who prefer to work as a team, the disciplines may be shared amongst three people.
Last year 139 competitors took part, comprising of 55 individuals and 27 others in teams.
Starting with a 750m swim in the River Thames, individuals and teams will then undertake a cycle of 20km followed by a 5km sprint to the finish line.
For those who are not quite up to the challenge of running, swimming and cycling, there is the opportunity to get involved by helping to raise money and encouraging others to donate, offering support to your colleagues and friends that are competing.
