Below is a spotlight on just a few of the 13 categories that are included in the Pitched Roofing Awards for 2020:

Best use of roof tiles (concrete and clay) for a commercial project
The judges will be looking for a commercial roof project that uses concrete or clay tiles, which have been completed to a high standard. They will be looking to see how well the new product or reclaimed tiles have complimented the existing building. The project should have been built on time, to budget, and have either met or exceeded the client’s expectations.

Best use of a flat to pitch roof system
The judges will be looking for a commercial or domestic roof project that uses lightweight tile sheets on a flat to pitch roofing system. Each judge will also look to see how well the product has improved/complimented the existing building.

Best use of a solar PV or solar thermal system
The judges will be looking for a roof project that features a domestic or commercial Photovoltaic or solar thermal system on either a newbuild or retro fit property. Each judge will also look to see how well the product has improved/complimented the overall look of the building, and how well it blends in with the surrounding areas.

Young achiever of the year
The judges will be looking for an exceptional person (roofing contractor or an apprentice) who, over the past 18 months, has worked hard and made a significant improvement to their company’s business. The individual can be working in any capacity and at any level of the business. Nominations should include details of the individual’s achievements, what they have done and how they carried out this work, and how the business has benefited as a result.

Best use of a pitched green roof system
The judges will be looking for domestic or commercial pitched green roof systems on either a newbuild or refurbishment project. Having been completed to a very high standard, each judge will be looking to see how well the product has improved/complimented the overall look of the building.
