Mapei Purtop Easy gives rapid results for Resapol

Construction chemical and building product specialist, Resapol, recently supplied products for an extensive roof renovation in Leigh, Greater Manchester, at a site currently being renovated into a new bar and restaurant. Using Mapei Purtop Easy waterproofing membrane system, the application was completed within just three days by contractor, Elite Construction & Property Services Group for the landlord, Vital Space.

Roof renovation works commenced following an initial site survey carried out by Steve Harrison from Resapol’s Leigh-based technical team. During the visit, a number of criteria were identified, with the renovation requiring a high performance, fast-track system that offered excellent adhesion and easy application.

“I immediately thought of Mapei as the ideal manufacturer. Its range of waterproofing membranes stands out as they’re really versatile and typically come as ‘ready-to-use’. They’re also rigorously tested and backed up by extensive research and development, so they provide a guarantee of durability, quality and environmental sustainability for the construction’s themselves,” explained Steve.

Mapei’s Phil Graham completed a further site survey with Steve Harrison, after which the client chose to go ahead with Mapei Purtop Easy waterproofing system. Ease of application enabled the project to be successfully completed within the three-day time frame.

Mapei Purtop Easy is a one-component, elastic polyurethane membrane with a coloured finish. It’s used for waterproofing new and existing balconies, terraces, roofs and areas with pedestrian access and can be applied on concrete, cementitious screeds, ceramic, fibre-cement boards, old bituminous membranes and metal. Highly elastic and exceptionally durable, the membrane is equally easy to apply either horizontally or vertically using a brush, roller or trowel. Once applied, it guarantees substrates are fully impermeable and resistant to standing water, root penetration, foot traffic and temperatures from -40°c to +80°c.
