Sika will headline across the RICS regions

Sika is set to build on a longstanding relationship with the RICS Awards this spring as Headline Sponsor for all 12 regional awards.

The move marks the ninth consecutive year as a RICS award sponsor for Sika but will be the first time that the company has increased its involvement with the prestigious awards scheme by opting to be Headline Sponsor for every region.

“These awards see outstanding projects from across 12 UK regions gaining recognition for innovation and their positive impact on local communities,” commented Rod Benson, Sika’s business unit manager for Roofing, “and they ensure that the chartered surveyors involved are rewarded for their achievements.

“We believe the ethos of the awards is in tune with our approach as a business as we have a commitment to excellence in everything we do – from product development though to technical support and industry-leading guarantees. Our headline sponsorship of the awards recognises the fact that we are part of something much bigger than the products we supply; we are involved in making our built environment more relevant and engaging for the people who use it and more sustainable for both the environment and society.”

RICS’ regional awards programme celebrates the diversity of construction and infrastructure projects taking place across the regions. This diversity is echoed within the Sika business, which offers solutions from basement to roof, including a complete range of, sealing, bonding, damping, reinforcing, protecting and roofing solutions across the concrete, waterproofing, flooring, refurbishment and sealing & bonding sectors.

Rod continued: “As Headline Sponsor of all 12 regional RICS awards, Sika has an opportunity to celebrate our innovation in advanced construction materials within real projects that showcase the very best in design, specification and project delivery. We know from previous years of sponsoring the awards just how many of the stand-out projects shortlisted each year have been built using our products and the awards ceremonies also provide a forum for us to engage with building surveyors, understand the challenges they face and learn more about how we could help them.”

The first of the RICS Regional Awards ceremonies for 2019 will celebrate projects in the North East when it takes place at the Civic Centre in Newcastle on April 26.
