The Grove Hotel is a development of an established country estate of the Earl of Clarendon, where lavish entertaining for London Society often included Queen Victoria as guest.
Developed more recently as a hotel and conference centre with surrounding golf course, the Hotel has become one of the premier venues of the region. The venue now hosts some of the world’s most high profile conferences and events including EU Summits as well as golf tournaments such as 2016 British Masters.
In order to respond to the client’s demands for further function facilities, three different extensions were added to the hotel and golf facilities, sympathetically blending contemporary construction elements with the façades of the main building and the surrounding space.
Thanks to reassurance of excellent workmanship, extended warranty and offering the right solutions for the challenging design requirements of this historical building, main contractor Galliford Try chose to work with Delomac Roofing and IKO Polymeric single ply membranes for all three projects.
To extend the golf complex within the old Stables Courtyard, Armourplan PSG PVC roofing membrane was used with standing seams. The aesthetic of the complementing profiles allowed the modern building to reflect traditional building techniques to blend in with the exteriors.
Armourplan PSG is a unique membrane to IKO Polymeric. With its superior reinforcement and the use of premium quality PVC throughout, this formulation provided Delomac Roofing with extended guarantees and ease of installation at the same time. The extra flexibility of the membrane allowed tight and crisp detailing on standing seams to complement the building’s aesthetically pleasing look.
All extensions were successfully completed in February 2017 enabling the venue to cope with the extra demand.
