A. Proctor Group has been named the winner of the 2015 Scottish Family Business of the Year Award.
The Family Business Awards were established three years ago to celebrate the contribution that family businesses make to the UK economy. The Proctor family business was recognised for the work it has achieved since it was founded in 1934.
The company originally manufactured textiles and supplied flax to Scotland’s mills, which evolved over time to the supply and fabrication of insulation products. Today, it is run by the fourth generation of the Proctor family and is now a nationwide supplier of thermal and acoustic insulation, timber cladding and ground gas protection products, as well as a range of vapour permeable membranes, all of which are still manufactured in Scotland today.
Keira Proctor, managing director of Proctor Group, said: “We are delighted to have been nominated and win this prestigious Family Business of the Year award. It comes after years of hard work and challenging times within the construction industry, as well as significant changes within the running and diversification of our organisation over recent years.

In addition to winning the Scottish Family Business of the Year title, A. Proctor Group also took home the title of 2015 Manufacturing Family Business of the Year.
