AJW Distribution Group has acquired Castle Roofing Supplies after the merchant’s owner, Ken Smith, felt it was the right time to sell and was looking for a similar family-run business to carry on the legacy.
Ken has known AJW for several years and after an initial call from Tom Woods, managing director of AJW, to inquire about this prospect, Ken decided that AJW would be the perfect fit to take his business to the next level.
Commenting on the acquisition, Tom said: “We were honoured to be contacted by Ken and feel that Castle Roofing is the perfect fit for the AJW Group. The depot is north of our current territory and gives us the opportunity to develop our business further into Peterborough and the surrounding areas.
“We have spoken about developing the AJW business for some time and feel this was an opportunity not to be missed. Ken and his team have created a solid business with an amazing reputation where service is at the forefront of their company ethos which is perfectly aligned with AJW’s. We are looking forward to continuing the level of service which they offer their customers; plus, we will look to develop the product offering from Castle Roofing in line with the rest of the AJW Group.”
