AJW Distribution has moved from its current Chatteris branch to a new location in the same town.
The branch opened on 9 November and due to lockdown 2.0, customers were able to call in advance to place and collect their orders. AJW has now implemented strict health and safety policies to ensure that there is zero contact between staff and customers.
Charlotte Woods, who project managed the branch move, said: “We made the decision to move the Chatteris depot back in July, due to space at the current depot. As you can imagine with any depot move, it has been a challenge, but luckily moving during COVID has not caused us too many issues as we work within the construction industry.
“This all changed when the Prime Minister announced a national lockdown in the final week before the move and I panicked. However, all the tradespeople who are working for us to ensure the success of our opening, have been extremely supportive and committed to the work we had booked in.”
Clair Bond, manager of the Chatteris branch, added: “We feel very fortunate that we are an essential business and can continue to trade. It allows our customers to access the materials they need, and we get to play our part in supporting the construction industry doing these challenging times.”
