Aperture celebrates 15 years

ApertureAperture has celebrated 15 years providing cold applied waterproofing solutions across the UK.

From a small rented unit in Failsworth, Manchester, the company now occupies a specially-built workshop ten miles away in Trafford and manages over 700 contracts annually.

The company operates across all sectors providing its specialist service to roofing contractors, main contractors and directly to end clients.

Formed in 2001 as a direct response to Part L2 of the new building regulations covering air permeability and thermal bridging, Aperture says its systems ensure that the roof area is sealed to a standard that will assist the specifier in achieving Part L2.

Aperture says the weathering system can resolve a host of roofing issues including water ingress, mastic reliant details, air leakage, leaking metal end laps, gutter joints and unsightly flashings on areas surrounding ducts, gutters, access hatches, pipes and junctions.

Since 2001, Aperture says it has gained numerous industry standard accreditations, including BBA certification, NBS and Investors in People.

Mick Philbin, from Aperture, outlined his thoughts on the company’s 15-year success story: “When we started, the prime intention was to install mechanical and electrical installations onto roofs which was a major problem for all roofing contractors.

“However, as time went by we were asked to perform all types of difficult design details in roofs and cladding. We’ve found contractors keep coming back because we provide a start to finish service. Small, awkward details, where mastic details have proved to be inadequate over the years, are our bread and butter works.”
