The Baumit training academy, which is due to stage its first training dates in March, is based at the company’s new branch in Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster. It’s the second centre to open by the company, following the successful implementation in 2018 of an External Wall Insulation (EWI) training centre at its UK headquarters in Kent.
Both academies are purpose-built and open to those within the construction industry to gain vital theoretical and practical experience in a range of EWI systems and practices. The sessions will include application with Baumit products using spray render machines.
Working with CES Hire and Euromair, Baumit has three machines available on request within the academies: MixPro 14 – application of all Baumit renders; Mini Jet 80 – application of Airless plaster; 8P – application of topcoats, primers and paints.
Chris Kendall, senior field engineer at Baumit, said: “Our installer courses provide a perfect opportunity for installers and members of the construction industry to gain a valuable working knowledge of EWI and render application. The experts at our training academy are fully-equipped to ensure clients come away better-informed of the processes and systems involved in all things EWI.”
Before the official opening, two open days are to be staged at the Doncaster academy on Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday March 5. It will include practical demonstrations and a Q&A hosted by the technical team running the course.
