The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) will be giving delegates at its All Industry Conference in Istanbul on 15-17 June a set of interactive workshops to discuss the most relevant issues facing the industry.
Delegates can select between the two 45-minute workshops which will be held each day, with those with an interest in Sustainability and Energy Efficiency able to sign up for both as they are being held on different days.
The Value of Sustainability workshop will examine how building sustainability into business adds financial, social and environmental value. Chaired by Giles Bradford, head of sustainability at Bradfords, with an expert panel comprising Darren Price of Lords Builders Merchants, James Mitchell from session sponsors, Kerridge, Sam Hanks of Knauf and David Craddock founder VerdeGO Group incorporating VerdeGO Timber Frames, covering the four key parts of the supply chain. The four experts will give individual presentations on their company’s progress before inviting questions from the audience.
The second workshop, Energy Efficiency Policy, Fact, Fiction or Fad – what’s in it for us? will brief delegates on the government’s latest energy efficiency policy and the opportunities this, along with the continual development of Building Regulations, will create for the building materials industry in the coming years before opening the discussion up with a Q&A with delegates. The workshop will be led by Steve Duke of Knauf Insulation and Mike Beard of session sponsors Encon Insulation, who will also chair the session, with Ian McConville, Group Procurement Director of MKM providing a merchant’s view.
