Caddick Construction has completed a recladding scheme at West Point in Leeds.
The company replaced 12,000 sq m of existing cladding at the 16-storey residential development on Wellington Street.
Replaced with a fully compliant system in line with the Building Safety Act, the facade install has also included the replacement of 25,000 linear meters of firestops and cavity barriers.
A company statement said the scheme has been designed to ensure the building meets current fire safety regulations.
Delivered on behalf of Mainstay Residential and West Point Management, the project was completed while the building remained fully occupied. This required careful planning and close collaboration with residents and business occupants, the statement added.
Throughout the project, Caddick said it invested in a range of initiatives to support over 200 students across Leeds, including partnership initiatives with Leeds Beckett University and Castleford College.
The company also teamed up with Leeds College of Building students to carry out £2,000 worth of refurbishment works at Herd Farm Residential and Activity Centre.
Steve Ford, regional managing director of Caddick Construction North East and Yorkshire, said: “The successful and safe completion of this project is a testament to the detailed planning, technical expertise and close coordination between our team and our supply chain partners. We’re particularly grateful to the building’s occupants for their patience and cooperation throughout the works; completing a project of this scale with residents in situ is never without its challenges.
“Being entrusted with such a significant fire safety compliance scheme is a responsibility we take extremely seriously. Our priority throughout was protecting and contributing to the wellbeing of the community while delivering a robust, fully compliant solution that will stand the test of time. The new facade provides a secure future for everyone who lives and works within the West Point development.”
