This August will see the 20th anniversary of a partnership between fall protection specialist Latchways and one of its registered installer companies, Gable Fall Safe.
The relationship developed after Gable recognised the opportunity of offering fall protection solutions to clients whilst carrying out roofing works, and says it identified Latchways as the leading fall protection manufacturer in the industry.
As fall protection systems evolved from steel posts fixed to building structures to Constant Force technology (CFP), Gable says it was the first registered UK installer to install the newly developed ‘direct weld’ CFP for warm flat roofs to The Spectrum Building, Swindon, and the first registered UK installer to install a CFP system to a Bauder roofing membrane onto the iconic Bournemouth International Centre, Dorset.
Other key projects that the company has worked on have included the BBC television production studios Roath Lock, Cardiff, the Mary Rose Museum, Portsmouth, and the new Terminal 2, Dublin, which necessitated the installation of over 1200lm of specially adapted handrail and 1200lm of cable based fall protection.
Gable Fall Safe operates as the fall protection arm of the larger Gable Group and says that it is unique because it is the only roofing and registered Mansafe installer in the UK, allowing the completion of the full package of roofing and Mansafe installation and certification under the same umbrella.
Director Neil Wilson says he has enjoyed working with the Latchways team over the past 15 years, describing them as “second to none”.
Mr Wilson commented: “Latchways has a great team ethos and has always been very supportive to all of our requirements. Its continued investment and engineering excellence helps maintain its position as global leaders in fall protection and Gable Fall Safe look forward to another 20 years of working together!”
Gable has recently won a project in excess of £350,000 for the installation of Mansafe and Walksafe to a rail depot re-roofing project in London, working in conjunction with its specialist rail department Gable Rail and Latchways.
