RoofCERT has appointed Matt Dawson as its commercial manager to help drive the programme to reach the ambitious target of accrediting 2,000 roofing operatives.
This appointment comes as RoofCERT’s strategic engagement director Jon Vanstone has been appointed as the Chair of the Interim Industry Competence Committee (IICC).
Matt Dawson joins RoofCERT from the insurance industry, where he worked closely with many clients across the construction industry. Prior to this, he has worked for several trade associations, including the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE), as well as the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), where he was responsible for a similar scheme for recruitment professionals.
Commenting on his appointment, Matt said: “I am delighted to be starting this position at such an exciting time for the RoofCERT scheme. Having worked previously in the insurance side of construction, I know the importance of upskilling and continuous development in ensuring quality.
“Client and government expectations on competency are only set to intensify over the coming years, but fortunately, the roofing sector is ahead of the game with RoofCERT. We have set ourselves some ambitious targets, however, I am confident that we can grow rapidly with the support of the industry behind us.”
