The National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) has introduced a pair of new benefits for its members.
NFRC Members can now view and download 16 British Standards, including BS 5534, BS 6229 and BS 8000, directly from the NFRC Member Support Area at no cost.
Richard Miller, director of membership for NFRC, said: “We know the value of BSI publications and we’ve worked tremendously hard to achieve this.
“Access to these resources, completely free of charge, means a cost saving for our members whilst injecting a substantial investment into their learning and professional development.
“This all-new member benefit is a clear demonstration of NFRC’s commitment to professionalising the roofing and cladding trade and ensuring a competent workforce.”
Bob Richardson, head of technical and training at NFRC, added: “This is a significant additional value to NFRC Membership.
“BSI publications are frequently referenced in our sector and wider industry, and I strongly encourage all members to take advantage of the library available.”
Used throughout the construction sector, the NFRC said BSI documents promote quality workmanship, compliance with UK Building Regulations and Health & Safety legislation, and consistent installation standards.
The second new benefit is the NFRC Private Medical Insurance (PMI) Scheme. Administered by ECIS, the NFRC said its new Scheme gives Members rapid access to specialist medical support and treatment. Faster diagnoses and care mean fewer days lost to sickness and injury, it noted, which is expected to improve productivity and morale while reducing costs linked to absenteeism.
Richard said: “NFRC is pleased to provide our members a way to protect their biggest assets–their workforce.
“This will not only increase productivity and reduce absenteeism, it will boost morale by giving the workforce a sense of value.
“ECIS has over 40 years of experience supporting businesses in the construction sector, and we encourage all members to explore the benefits of the scheme.”
