Four members of staff from Covers Timber & Builders Merchants in Chichester will be supporting the charity Children on the Edge as they team up for the Chichester Half Marathon on Sunday, October 9.
Justin Walsh, Matt Sherry, Sam Cole and Simon Chivrall will be undertaking the challenging task of running 13 miles across various types of terrain including roads, sand tracks and grassy cross country ascents.
The Chichester Half Marathon or ‘Chi Half’ is organised by the international charity Children on the Edge, which helps to support some of the most vulnerable children in the world including the refugees who have fled from war and persecution in Syria.
Simon Chivrall, IT support analyst at Covers in Chichester, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Children on the Edge and taking part in the Chichester Half Marathon. This is the third year that a team from Covers will take part in the event so you could say it has become a company tradition.
“As with previous years the team has been training extremely hard and we’re really looking forward to taking on the tough task that the other teams have successfully completed before us.”
In addition to the team’s efforts, Covers will once again be supplying and sponsoring the bags that all registered runners receive after they have completed the race.
Ben Wilkes, from Children on the Edge, added: “We are very grateful to have the continued support of the Covers team and we wish them the best of luck with the half marathon. It is the support and participation from companies like Covers that allows us to continue the work we’re doing to help vulnerable children.”
