MKM Building Supplies opened its Canterbury branch with sports announcer Paul Booth hosting the ceremonies and giving visitors the chance to go up against darts legend and ‘king of bling’ Bobby George.
MKM Canterbury also teamed up with Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which provides vital care and emotional support for children with serious and terminal conditions across Kent, south east London and East Sussex.
Len Richardson, co-director of the new MKM Canterbury branch, said: “It was fantastic to see so many customers visit us on our first day of trading here on the Wincheap Industrial Estate. The darts challenge proved to be a very popular draw for the local community, and it was fantastic to welcome Bobby and Paul to the branch.
“We are very happy to also lend our support to Demelza Hospice. It’s a charity that means a lot to the whole team here, so it was an honour to include such a worthy cause in our opening celebrations.”
Len’s co-director, Mark Carver, added: “With more than 400 years of experience between us, our 14-strong team is committed to making this the premier destination for building supplies in the area.”
