Encon doubles Mental Health First Aiders in the workplace

The Encon Group has increased its team of qualified Mental Health First Aiders from 10 to 21, reflecting its ongoing commitment to supporting employee wellbeing.

The training course Encon employees underwent was delivered by Stress Matters and enabled them to learn key skills such as recognising when people need to talk, encouraging people to seek help through recognised resources, active listening and empathy, and promoting positive conversations around mental health.

Deborah Gore, Encon HR & HSEQ director, commented: “We are delighted to expand our group of Mental Health First Aiders, ensuring our teams across the business have access to the support they need, when they need it the most.

“As an ‘Employer of Choice’ it’s important our people know there is someone they can reach out to, and for our qualified aiders to feel confident they can help our teams with the right advice and reassurance. A huge well done to all those who successfully passed the training – we are extremely proud of their achievement and of the employee support we can provide.”
