Filon to exhibit at RCI Show 2024

Filon Products is pleased to support the UK’s primary roofing exhibition, once again. As one of only three companies to exhibit at every show since its inception, the GRP (glass fibre) building products innovator will be on hand to present the full range of industrial and pitched roofing products to the industry.

The range includes Filon profiled industrial rooflights: the UK’s original, continuous pultrusion process manufactured, translucent profiled sheet. Filon have been producing since 1957 whilst embracing modern ideas, materials, and techniques. The technical ability of manufacturing profiled rooflight sheets is also demonstrated in Filon’s opaque roofing and cladding sheets and Citadel, a tailor-made sheet, bespoke designed to suit site specific harsh and aggressive conditions where coated steel sheeting could quickly corrode, areas such as marine, chemical plants, and galvanisers, among others.

Filon’s lightweight over-roofing system will be displayed and is ideal for over-cladding old, failing roofs that are unable to accept the additional weight of steel sheeting.

Staying with the industrial roof refurbishment theme, Filon DR, the Double Reinforced and Direct Replacement asbestos grey profiled sheet will be available to see. This product is a safer solution for directly over-laying on top of a broken profiled Asbestos cement roof sheet or replacing it completely. Filon DR is thin enough to easily overlay whilst still being strong enough to replace.

For those with safety at the top of their agenda, Fixsafe will also be presented. This is a revolutionary patented rooflight system for replacing rooflights and roof sheets from within the building. The only profiled rooflight sold as a kit is complete with sheet, sealant and all of the specialist fixings that mean the risks associated with working on fragile roofs are removed. This complies with the first principle of HSE’s Working at Height Hierarchy of Controls which is AVOID. So, box ticked and everybody’s working safely!

FAIRs or Factory Assembled Insulating Rooflights, for use within composite panel roof systems, provide a range of sheet strengths to achieve appropriate levels of non-fragility, will also be on display. These amazing rooflights with profile and box depths to match the specific composite panel type provide higher levels of natural diffusion than other typical rooflight materials due to the natural diffusing properties of GRP and the addition of a further diffusing agent, that is unique to Filon translucent sheeting.

The popular Monarch F barrel vault rooflights will be on show. Typically used on standing seam, low-pitch and flat roofs, provides, as with all Filon translucent sheets, highly diffused light to reduce hot spots and shadows.

Among Filon’s range of GRP valley troughs for slate and tile roofs is the latest product in the line. The patented Heritage Valley Trough is a game-changing, hidden, dry-fix valley trough for creating extremely attractive and very cost-effective close-mitred valleys on slate, plain tiled and many other pitched roof types. Visit Filon’s stand to see how to simply create a traditional close-mitred valley without the normal expense and considerable installation time involved with fitting soakers beneath each course. The Filon Heritage Valley Trough enables a high-end finish at the cost of a normal dry-fix valley trough. This isn’t just about heritage projects; this is about making all roofs look better.

As this year’s show is now a one-day event, be sure to put it in your diary to lock in the date. Filon’s team of sales and technical personnel will be on hand to walk you through all the products or simply any you aren’t so familiar with, and answer any questions you may have, but we would prefer if you kept them to roofing products.

Of course, this show is a major highlight in the Filon calendar, and we look forward to meeting old friends and making new ones at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes. So, remember to pop the date in your diary and hopefully we’ll see you in October! We generally have some free goodies for visitors to take away and we wouldn’t want you to miss out!
