Four more companies have joined 70 others as Business Champions in the CO2nstructZero initiative launched by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC).
This companies have committed to targeting carbon reduction and have provided details on how this will be achieved to help those in the wider sector.
The latest companies to become Business Champions are:
- Gripple
- Kier
- McAleer & Rushe
- Vertec Ltd
Andrew Davies, CEO of Kier, said: “Kier is delighted to become a CO2nstructZero Business Champion. In 2020, we launched our sustainability framework Building for a Sustainable World, and in 2021, our pathway to net zero that sets out our carbon reduction plan. The nine priority areas that form part of the CO2nstructZero programme align with our commitments to become net zero in our own business operations by 2039 and across our value chain by 2045.
“We are also committed to supporting our clients to achieve their own net zero targets and to working collectively with our supply chain and industry colleagues to drive forward progress.”
Dan Seymour, technical director of Vertec, said: “We are very excited to be a Business Champion as part of the CO2nstructZero movement and are looking forward to be able to share and collaborate with other construction companies to reduce our carbon emissions and effects on the natural environment.”
