With mastic asphalt proven to be the most reliable and durable waterproofing product available, these attributes have contributed to a number of successful projects throughout a continuously positive 2016.
In a field of what were described as outstanding entries, Infallible Systems was awarded the coveted Contractor of the Year Award for its exceptional work on Tower Bridge, while Knight Asphalt picked up the Challenge Trophy for its work on the Road Safety Experience in Rochester.
Ellie Coulter was the winner of the John Blowers Award for Lifetime Achievement for her work with Sussex Asphalte, a successful business which was started by her father in 1948 and has been continuously trading for nearly 70 years. The company continues to flourish today, while maintaining the traditions of the asphalt trade.
Following the awards presentation, guest speaker, Matt Le Tissier, entertained the guests. A one-club player with more than 500 appearances for Southampton and scorer of 200 goals, the former footballer and current Sky pundit was able to reflect on his career as one of the most naturally gifted footballers of his generation.
Every year the AGM is organised and held by the Mastic Asphalt Council, a non-profit making independent body that represents more than 90 companies including the UK’s leading mastic asphalt contractors and manufacturers.
The Mastic Asphalt Council AGM is always a celebration of the past year’s successes and its awards has grown in terms of both attendees and projects to celebrate.
